Insuring the continued growth of programs and infrastructure at NSCC Marconi and the retention of all current programs of CBU, particularly the BEd and Nursing programs. Both institutions are critical for the anticipated growth pattern of the area as a result of the opportunities listed above.

On January 29, the Sydney and Area Chamber of Commerce held a Pre-Budget luncheon with the Hon. Graham Steele, Minister of Finance as Guest Speaker.

Excellence in Business Awards
The Sydney and Area Chamber of Commerce wishes to thank everyone who nominated a business for this year's Excellence in Business Awards. We had over 140 nominations in 14 categories. The actual awards show took place on Tuesday October 30th and we had a record crowd of over 300 people.

The Chamber is pleased to announce that Maria Paruch of Riverview High School is the lucky recipient of the Chamber of Commerce $1500 Scholarship. She will be attending CBU in the Fall.
